I have had this message for almost 24 hours and it is draining my battery . The latest charge 20 % drop now in little over an hour. I had iOS 18 installed already. Was something else released that is taking so long?? I had great battery life for a few days now this. I have the iPhone 16

I had the message show up periodically on my 15 Pro Max for about 5 days. It also took about that long for my battery life to get better.

I had the message for a few days but it did not effect my battery life. It is a feature of Ios 18 and will be there pretty much everytime you do an update for a few days

Was there an update in the last day? I am turning off auto updates so I know exactly when an update is applied

I think we all saw it with the ios 18 release. I had it on my new phone - 16PM - for about 3-4 days. It finally went away and I haven’t seen it since, even after updating my phone to the 18.1 beta. I had no battery issue because of it. It may have also been on my previous phone which had been updated to 18 prior to getting my new phone, but I never looked at the battery settings until I started seeing these posts.

Did your iPhone update to 18.0.1? This happening with every update and it has always been like that. The message should disappear after 2-3 days.

Apple is just more transparent with whats going on with your phone and why the battery life decreases temporarily after an update.

That's similar to the popup in macOS after a system install, or update, telling you that the system is being optimized, and you can usually expect an increase in system response after that optimization is complete. It's just presented a bit differently now, but that's what is happening. Been there for years in macOS. I don't recall seeing it in iOS, but it serves the same function, I'm sure.

I was just about to post about this as I have the same message and have never seen it before. I've not noticed any performance or battery issues but the message has been there since the 18.0.1 update was installed 3 days ago

I phone 16 pro on checking battery says this but it’s now over 3 days since I first set it up from backup
Surely this should have been long done by now ?
Phone running well
