Hey.

I will be getting my iPhone over the next few days. How can I update its firmware to 1.0.2 instead of 1.1.1 (which is I assume the default when I connect my iPhone to mac (itunes 7.4.2))?

Thanks, Kiko.

Can I update especifically to 1.0.2 or do I have to update to 1.1.1 or else stay on 1.0.0?

I don't want to go to 1.1.1 because it will lock my future iUnlock software.

Perhaps they question should be "why would anyone want to go to 1.1.1?"

Oh, I dunno. Maybe for improved (read fixed) audio output. Getting rid of the white grid pattern that affected many phones. Faster overall interface. Better WiFi reception with faster Edge. I could also list all the ones Apple did, but I think you get the idea.

But if you want to avoid the 1.1.1 to unlock, you will have to find someone with the image file.

For God's sake, read! LOL I did, one must aquire the image file of the version they want.

that is not the case with the most recent version of iTunes. It no longer asks for the folder, but the SPECIFIC file.... check it out. what is the specific file for v. 1.0.2?

EDIT: found the cause, you need to rename the ZIP files without the ".zip"

I have the firmware 1.0.2 in zip that contains all firmware files (2 dmg files, a folder, and 2 files). How can I install it?
