I'm on iOS 6.1 and I'm getting pretty good (for me) battery life. I don't see anything in the 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 update that would motivate me to go through the (as of now) arduous process of updating to 6.1.2 and jailbreaking again.

This would have to be handled through iTunes and I've got over 15GB of video that would have to be restored to my iPhone through USB 1.1 (the last time it took about a day and a half).

So, my question is, other than minor security updates and bug fixes is there any reason to update at all? If you're getting good battery life and are faced with restoring 15GB of video is this an update you'd apply?

Thanks for your thoughts on this!

Hi,

Well it reads as though you've already made your mind up.

If all is well then stay where you are.

Im JB but if i can update to the newest iOS and still be JB then i do.

I didn't know it deletes videos. But why would you update if none of the features appeal to you??
It always appeals to me to update to the latest. But in this case, being jailbroken, I'd have to restore to 6.1.2 using iTunes (after backing up), rejailbreak, and then restore from backup.

I backup to iCloud. iCloud doesn't backup video. Before jailbreaking, each time I restored I had to recopy over my video.

I apologize, I should be clear. The video I have is TV show video and I have it actually in the Video app and not in the camera roll. So, that I suppose is the reason it doesn't backup to iCloud. Not to mention I would blow out the standard 5GB of iCloud backup 3 times over with this.

My mind is made up NOT to update unless there is something about the 6.1.2 update that I don't know about. That's why I'm asking; to see if there is something that's worth the update other than the pat media reviews you can find online.

If my understanding of updating is incorrect and it's a simple matter of updating to 6.1.2 in iTunes and my jailbreak remains then that's something I wouldn't have an issue with because it won't wipe out my video.

I'm staying at 6.1 not like 6.1.2 is such an improvement.
Everything is setup the way I want and runs great.
If it ain't broke...
Thanks. That's the way I'm looking at it. But if there was some way to update and keep my jailbreak and my video (I don't relish syncing 15GB of video back to my iPhone) at the same time I'd do that.

You never know unless you ask.

All 6.1.2 does is fix the Exchange calendar bug. I went through the hassle of updating because I have my work Exchange account on my phone and needed to be able to get calendar invites. If you don't use Exchange, there is absolutely no point in updating.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll stay where I am then.
