Update froze Phone HELP

ok, so I updated to the latest iphone and iTunes software and what happens. My apple froze. There is a black screen with a yellow exclamation sign saying that I need to connect my iphone to itunes...but it was connected!
I read real quick on the macrumors homepage that the third party programs are locking the phone? I used iphoneringtonemaker, could that be why?
What do I do. I am leaving for NY tomorrow and NEED my phone. Someone help!

I also used iphoneringtonemaker (the ONLY 3rd party thing I installed) and had this same issue. I just unplugged the iphone and plugged it back in and it loaded the update just fine. It was a little strange though...

I took it off the cradle and tried to turn if off and then put it back on the cradle and same thing. My computer can't recognize it.
It won't show up in the itunes and I can't get into the iphone through the start-computer way.
