Can we still not do this in the new era of unlimited data? If not, anyone know why???

Nope, can't do it. I assume its to keep the network from getting super bogged down when everyone tries to upgrade at the same time. You also want data integrity, doing a firmware update over a fluctuating LTE connection is just asking for trouble.

To keep clueless people from chewing up their tiny monthly data plans.
But to he** with clueless, lame-a** limited data havin' suckers. When to the clueful, unlimited T-Mobile up to 50GB without prioritization havin' geniuses get their day!

I really want to dump Comcast for good.
