Hi guys!

So my cousins daughter got an iPhone 6S that runs iOS 11. Now, they are getting an error when trying to update to iOS 15 - which is obviously because the phone can’t run it.
I’m wondering if there is a way of upgrading it to iOS 12 which is the latest update the 6S can run?

The iPhone 6S can definitely run iOS15. The iPhone 6 can only run iOS12. I'd say you either don't have a 6S or more likely, just having issues updating. There have been quite a few threads on his forum about members getting errors when trying to update to iOS15 on a wide range of models.. What error are you getting?

If the phone storage is getting full, there’s not enough space to download & install a new OS

My bad! It was iPhone 6 that could not run iOS 15 it appears. She does indeed have an iPhone 6S. The following error is given: «An error occurred during installing iOS 15.0.1». I don’t have the phone at hand and I’m going by info from someone that isn’t too tech savy 😅 The main issue is that Spotify is not working anymore, and I assume the phone has to be updated.

Lots of apps are no longer supporting iOS 12. If there’s an app that’s really important, the iPhone 6 will have to be replaced with a newer model.
