Does anyone with an iPhone 7+ or anyone advanced with older iPhones and the current iOS . . . know if the 7+ is perhaps better ;eft alone until I upgrade next year? I don't want to mess with a good thing if I can save myself (and others) the mistake!

any insight appreciated

I've been considering upgrading from 14.8 next week to 15.1 too, but I might wait a bit longer, till like 15.2 or .3, still a little hesitant because of all the issues I still hear about.

wow cool, thank you!!!! with iPhone 13's in the world, something about having the 7+ makes me feel likes its borderline getting the boot soon, with regards to support/function and so on.

it current has iOS 14.8
15.0.2 has been just as good as 14.8 was on my X. I had a few minor bugs on 14.8 and I have a few minor bugs on 15.0.2 so I'm happy with the new OS. Safari takes a bit to get used to but if you don't like the changes they allow you to use the old setup like 14.8 so it's not an issue IMO. Your 7+ will be supported at least one or two more versions than the 6S so I wouldn't worry about that. I would entertain updating using iTunes instead of OTA as a few forum member have had issues that were later corrected when they did a restore using the full ipsw download and iTunes. Most haven't had an issue with OTA so it's up to you how to proceed.. Remember, once you update to iOS15 you can't downgrade so make sure your prepared to go through with it.

Wait till around Christmas time and give yourself the gift of a mostly bug free and more polished version of iOS 15. This has been my rule the past few years. I’ve been burned too many times updating early and have learned my lesson!!

I too am on my launch 128GB JB iPhone 7 and it’s running 14.8 beautifully. No reason to mess with a good thing! iOS 15 doesn’t really have anything that interests me to update anyways for now.

Apple this year was in no hurry to push people into installing iOS 15. In fact, it was an option kinda buried on the bottom of the software update page.
There’s zero reason to install iOS 15 at this time unless there’s some little feature it has that looks compelling
