Well... I just wanted to let you know about my repair done on my iMac.
Anyways... I took my iMac in because it no longer started up. Exactly 13 days later they call me and tell me it's all done.
I pick it up at the genius bar and ask the girl if they tested it and/or ran diagnostics on it to verify everything is working and she said yes. I took it home (I live 40 miles away from the only Apple store in my state) and hook it up later that night only to find that it still doesn't turn on. It's not fixed at all. So I call the store back and politely express how truly upset I am and they tell me to bring it back in. I went there the next day and spoke to a guy who actually was very very professional, and he assured me... even guaranteed me it will be fixed in 3 days. (Why couldn't they have fixed it in 3 days before?)
So now I picked up my iMac a 2nd time... and this time I made the girl plug it in so that I can see if it is fixed. Well... it works... but sadly it got scraped on the side... so I ask the manager to make a note of this as this iMac is a business lease. I also notice that the inside of the screen has hair and lint all over in it. I mentioned that I need that cleaned up more... and the manager (I think it was him) said that it would be difficult to do, due to static (um... ok... I work in IT, and we use anti-static sprays or cloths). I mentioned to him that it may be so, but it wasn't in this poor of a condition when I brought it in, and that I expect at least the same quality when I pick it up for repair.
Well... anyways, it also seems that a strange dark band is going across my screen... not enough to keep me from enjoying something, but enough to make me notice it when doing working on documents and such.
Anyways... all in all, I have my iMac back... but the experience requires to much of my time and effort to get things fixed.
