Tried updating to iOS 17 yesterday, but speed was like 1960ish modem, with an estimated completion time of 12 hours.

So rebooted.

But now the update is either "requested" or "paused", although nothing happens.

Tried restarting. Tried airplane mode. Tried switching wifi on and off. Tried everything described on the interwebs. To no avail.

There is nothing in "iphone storage". It is paused. It is dead.

Reaching out to the overlord gurus for advice how to proceed. Much obliged!

If you have a computer you could try using that to update your phone instead.

Hm, tried that yesterday. Both Finder and Apple configurator said that software is up to date (16.6.1).

But now it does list 17.0, and is installing. 7.27 GB though, complete install.

Update failed, though. Had to go into recovery mode, but it wouldn't update without an internet connection. My phone is my modem. Luckily I could use an older phone to get around the problem.
