If you have a friend with a Tiger disk, ask to borrow it, it might be bad media. Also, if you have installed third party RAM, put back in the Apple RAM and try again with the same media.

Well, I'm more than ready to be slammed if I'm wrong but I think a firewall can either be a physical box (near your modem) or software (you'd know if you'd installed it). I'm guessing you don't have one though, which is kind of good because it simplifies things.

However, we're back to where we started. Did you do an upgrade to Tiger or a clean erase/install? It might be worthwhile doing the latter, although it means backing up everything which can be a pain. Also, what other software have you installed? Are you running an antivirus program?

Same thing is happening to me with my dual G5 2.5, Its not the DVD Because I used the same for my powerbook update and it works fine. I reinstalled tiger and it still does the same.
