Yes, I know a lot of you don't care whether an update comes out or not because you hate using Explorer and all things Microsoft, but I'm looking forward to using a new version of Explorer, assuming one is in the works. I remember a rumor saying that Explorer 6 was in development, and I was wondering if anyone knew when we would expect that to be released. Right now, explorer is butt-slow to render pages in OSX, even in Jaguar, but I still find myself using it more than Netscape or Chimera. I've tried Mozilla and Opera, but I didn't like them very much. All I want is a version of Explorer that can match the performance of Explorer 5.5 on Windows 2k (which I use at work and is literally 1-3 seconds faster per page, depending on how complex the page is). It's embarassing to have windows users over and have them ask why my mac surfs the web slow.

version 5.5 is expected soon, I've seen the beta, and my advice is to jump to Chimera or Mozilla

IE is slow on the mac because its a crappy carbon port of a crappy windows product. windows loads it at boot time to make it launch faster, and it was designed for windows and its display engine, os strengthts etc. which is why its faster on windows. in all actuallity, ms would rather you be using IE on windows, so why would they make an equally fast/faster version for the mac? i know that this is not the response that you wanted, but chimera is the upgrade to IE.
