I am still running iOS 11 and have received a bunch of app updates for iOS 12 compatibility. So should I update these apps while on iOS 11 first or should I update to iOS 12 first then update the apps?

I've run into bug and glitches before while updating from iOS 10 to iOS 11, which an apple genius said was "carried over" from the previous backup and the only way to solve it was to set up everything from scratch again (very time-consuming).

I'm wondering if updating the apps first then iOS (or vice versa) might help reduce the chances of software glitches and bugs carrying over.

Any ideas?
