In a few days iOS 18 will be released and it probably will be the only downloadable iOS when the iPhone is connected to Mac. If I want to update to 17.7 it seems that the only way is OTA update. I was wondering if I can download iOS 17.7 from the apple developer site (Here) and update with downloaded IPSW file? Has anyone tried this before?

And can get direct links to Apple servers/downloads at ipsw.me

You can always download IPSW but they will only be usable when signed by Apple...

This. So good for a couple of weeks, maybe: 16.6.1 was unsigned on or about Oct 3, 2023 after 17 was released, 17.6 had a shelf-life of only a week after 17.6.1 release (but since that's a point release, two weeks would be a safe bet imo).
