I upgraded my iMac mid 2011 to a Nvidia GTX 675 and it's working perfectly apart from the brightness issue and the boot menu screen. My problem is that I do not have the original card anymore and to upgrade to Mojave I can't access the boot screen to select the USB drive. The Mojave patched image can't boot from the desktop and shows this message:

Installation requires downloading important content. That content can't be downloaded at this time. Try again later.

I think I could set the USB drive as next bootable device, but my fear is that it does not work for some reason and I am stuck without my normal installation booting up.

I also tried to get into the boot menu blindly, but it is not working, maybe I'm not selecting the right partition.

Is there any way I can start a patched Mojave Install from the desktop?
