Update to Yosemite/ElCapitan

Do you suggest me to update my iMac 20" (A1224 model identifier: 8,1) year 2008 - OS X v10.6.8 Snow Leopard to Yosemite or ElCapitan?
RAM is 3 GB

You need to follow the steps in the link above your post to get El Capitan. You need El Capitan before you can install High Sierra anyway, but since your computer doesn't support High Sierra or Sierra, El Capitan is your only option.

I know Sierra is not support. But Yosemite uses fewer resources then elcapitan?
Do you if snow leopard use Apple ID to access Apple store ?

El Capitan is a much more solid operating system than Yosemite. Yosemite is also now fully unsupported by Apple so it's a strong likelihood that applications will soon begin to stop supporting it.

Either way, you're going to be happier if you add some RAM to that machine. According to datamemorysystems.com, you can get 6 Gb in it, 4 + 2.

El Capitan (and Yosemite) will probably need more RAM, as mentioned above.
And they'll probably run a little slow (even with the RAM).

For a 2008, 10.8.5 "Mountain Lion" might be a "good-enough jump" ahead...
