Update?

The app store is trying to get me to update os x mavericks which includes updates to a couple different apps. Would that screw up yosemite?

App Store updates whilst something other than Yosemite is running

Based on past experiences: a screw-up is unlikely, but please do have verifiably good backups of both operating systems.
