Hopefully it's true but when I went into the store with my friend to get her iPhone checked they said to make sure they're plugged in tonight as there will be a big update.

I agree. I think the first update (whenever it happens) will only include security and bug fixes. No features will be added (but I can always hope).

that would be rather anti-climatic...with updates always comes more bugs we don want. wats the use in a little security if im gonna get more bugs and no features.

I was thinking that an update would occur during the day, that way they can announce it. Maybe if it is just a security update they would care. If there were new features though you think they would want to do a press release.

everything on your phone should stay the same, they will just release an update, just like an itunes update it doesn't erase your songs

Not to burst everyone's bubble, but just like I did to Harry Potter fans i'll have to spill the beans on this latest release.

As it turns out, tonight's update will be a podcast that will have that annoying dude dressed in the Black sweater on the iPhone website telling us of the launch of the new iPhone widget called iPwned. It will give us one touch access to fork over our last shred of ours souls to none other than his lord Steviness ,i.e. iGod, who is seated on his right hand by iWoz.

The end is near - iPhone Update = iDoom

P.S.
I love my iPhone! ;)

I'd be more interested to know what the first update will include rather than when it will happen. :)
