I ust tried a restore, and I got a message that iTunes was downloading an update. Is this just the same original software. I do not recall this happening when I did a restore the other day.

Lies, lies, lies. :(

No, I was not lying, I really got that message, but I guess it was because I was doing a restore. Sorry for the confusion. Really, no attempt to start something

PS: can the moderator pull this thread?

Doesn't iTunes wait until you click the 'Restore iPhone' button before it goes out and downloads te 92MB iPhone restore image?

Yes, and that 92MB image is the iPhone version 1.0 software.

I'm sure we'll see a small update next week, as rumored. Nothing ground breaking until Leapord comes out though. Mostly just security and bug fixed I'd imagine. OS overhaul will happen in/around October.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry for stirring this up.
