I finally upgraded from Ventura to Sonoma and am on 14.7, Mac Mini M2. The issue is when I click on the Finder icon, nothing happens. If I select "settings" from the menu bar for Finder, nothing happens.

Things I've done: quite, force quite, rebooted, restarted, trashed finder.plist all with no effect. However, if I click on Macintosh HD icon or a folder on my desktop, a Finder window will open and work as intended.

Would appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this.

UPDATE:

I contacted Apple support and we did a screen share. When I was instructed to click on the Finder icon, it worked! Same for the Finder "settings" menu. How odd is that? The Apple dude had no clue as to how or why, but my fingers are crossed that somehow the issue got straightened out.

I noticed some glitches right after the 14.7 update on a few Mac here. However a simply restart fixed the issue.
