I've just ordered my new MacBook Pro, but am also looking to get a Mini once the refresh comes along.
After placing my order for the MacBook, when I click the link to track my item or check the order, I get the standard 'We are busy updating the Apple Store and will be back soon' image.

The store still seems to be running normally, it's just when you go to the account link, then to track my order.

Could this be a silent update for the iMac and mac mini???

try to look up an order. I can get to the store screen ,

but when I click

my orders/
look up and order
or track an order

it goes down and scrolls throurgh dozens of languages all saying the store is being updated.

i checked nz and uk down for both when you go to your account and try to look up an order.

Afaik apple doesn't release their computers on the weekend. I can see a silent release of the Mac mini, but I think they would make a bigger deal out of the iMac.

wellll steve is dead they fff'd up with the mac pro they back tracked with the green pc rules, it is a new apple.

This is a good way to blow our minds! or not. I do agree this would be out of character.

Yup, exactly what happens for me.

When you add a mac mini to the cart, it's not eligible for in-store pickup. Maybe they are updating their inventory systems or ?

No Mac products are showing up as eligible for pickup for me (US). It's most likely store maintenance.

I just don't see them updating the mini until Mountain Lion, and it doesn't look like that's coming until later this month. And even then, I'm skeptical -- based on past updates, it seems like we should've had some more substantial rumors by now for a mini refresh this month. Wouldn't be surprised if it was August or later.

Wow! Really? Couldn't wait a few weeks/days huh?

Just checked the Aussie store... Has the same messageas well.
Attempted to check the status of my flagship retinaMBP and it just redirects to the "We'll Be Back" page.

My fingers are itching but i know I'll regret it if I buy now. If I don't like what I see I'll probably pickup a refurbished 2011 model from apple online store cheaper.

Guess not. But we currently don't have a computer right now after the old one packed it in.

I know how you feel I just sold my 2011 MBP, G4 iMac 21" (which I adored but it was just too slow) and 2011 MBA at the end of May. BIG mistake... My retina MBP is still 2-3 weeks away and the mini which I was expecting to be released last month is still MIA.

All I have is this retina iPad to do everything on and it's just not cutting it.

I have placed the 2011 top specced server mini in the cart about ten times in the last month but what the heck even if it takes another 2 months it will be better than the feeling of ending up with last years model. I'll wait.

I am some-what comforted in knowing that this mini will be a server, and a server that will not have too much of a load on it so in reality if the refresh happens in the next month, the ordered mini will be more than capable of performing its duty. But still, if a faster one is on offer ;)

Better not be, I ordered a new Mini last night!!!!

If you ordered it online the window for returns is closer to 30 days, I know they state 14 days but for online orders they usually will accept 30 days from date shipped + a couple of weeks for you to return it.

I also think there is a 30 day return for the new model policy also, regardless of if you bought it in store (where they are much less lenient on the 14 day return policy) or online.

I would call them ASAP to be sure, but honestly unless you got the refurbished model I would really consider returning it if it is possible for you, especially the base model, I think it's in line for more ram, better CPU, much better graphics and USB 3.0 for the same price probably.

I think price is the main factor. If the new model is more than 599 might not be worth it. The current is 519 online refurb. So if the new base is 699 and the old goes to 470 then that is 230 dollars savings. So The old model wins. Unless the new really makes a lot of difference but probably not for my needs.

Panic over - store is fully back up and and nothing to show for it :(

Remember when the base model cost 799 euro? I think it was the first alu model. Nobody bought it ... at least here in europe. So I think 599 for the base model, 799 - 899 (depending on configuration) for the high-end consumer model and 999 for the server model is okay. 899 would be okay if they stick a quad-core and dedicated graphic in.

Please, let it be possible to change the hdd. I don't want to have to pay 600€ for a 200€ worth piece of hardware...
