Anyone know if the new mail application for Lion will have the specific features for email accounts, say from g-mail. For example, on iPhone i can swipe to "archive" (not delete) my gmail messages. It's a fantastic integration and synchronization and is the sole reason i don't use Mail on Snow Leopard.

I can say that the new look does look fantastic, from what i got to see...I hope this gets added so that I will be more inclined to use it.

If you set your account to keep a copy of your message on the server you can always retrieve it from the web interface ("automatic archive"). Not really sure what you're asking, as this can be done in pretty much any desktop mail client.

i understand that. i like being able to hit "archive" on my iphone and then the mail is archived on my gmail account. instead of having to archive the mail on gmail and also delete it from my mailbox? i guess i need to elaborate further?
