Tried to add a credit card to Apply Pay on my Mac and it said my Security Settings weren't correct and needed to go into Recovery. I have a Mac with the T2 security chip. I Restart, enter my firmware password, select Security Settings, but when it asks for my macOS password and I entered it, it wouldn't go onto the next screen!?! Anywhere in Recovery that asks for my macOS login password, Recovery is not recognizing it.

I Restart again into Big Sur, enter my macOS login password, and I'm able to login. Seems Recovery is corrupt. How do I reinstall the Recovery partition?

I'm not familiar so bear with me.
Was it asking for your account login password or could it have been your security password (like when a programme asks for your permission to do something)?

account login password.

other places in Recovery it's even more explicit in asking for both login name and login password, but Recovery didn't recognize it and wouldn't let move to the next screen.

Thanks. Seems curious and very inconvenient!
