I am now into just the THIRD day with my MBA update to Monterey 12.6.1 from Catalina and I have these Issues/Concerns and/or Observations:

Login Screen is very BLAND !! - can it be "SPICED UP" somehow?

Monterey seems much less responsive/slower than Catalina !! (Login and overall performance).

Can no longer connect Bluetooth to my MBA from iPhone 13 Pro.

Can no longer add EMOJII's to my text messages.

Can no longer delete certain files as before in Catalina when accessing Library/Caches folder (see attached screenshots).

Any and all relative and applicable commentary/input/advice will be very much appreciated !!

John A.

I think it was in Monterey, but I'm not sure, that Apple introduced a bunch of additional security features. All of your symptoms may be associated with these security settings.
Go to System Settings>Privacy and Security. You'll find lists of security categoriess that require individual settings, for example, Location Services, Contacts, Calendars, etc. Now here's where it gets tedious. Goto each security category and you'll find lists of apps or users, etc with switches to allow or disallow access to the particular category. For example, in the category Full Disk Access, you have to turn access permission on or off for a bunch of apps, etc. I have switches for 25 items in that category and there are over different things you can allow or deny access to the Full disk.
Make sure you go through the whole category list. In Ventura, which I'm on, the layout is a bit different but it represents the same thing. At the end of the Ventura list of categories, there are some additional things you'll want to deal with like FileVault, Lockdown Mode, Extensions, etc.
I hope this explanation is understandable and useful.

Try a clean install, ie, format the disk, install fresh OS & migrate the rest from TM.
