First of all I´m not complaining that it does not work properly ...! Just thought I share :) I just updated my 2g previously on 3.0 unlocked with the pwnage tool ... to 3.1.
Now I get the this sim is not supported message in iTunes and the connect to iTunes screen on my phone
BUT !
it works .. people can call me and send me texts and when they call me I can see my wallpaper in the back .... I just can´t do anything :)
That´s really funny I think !
And now I guess it´s back to 3.0 for me again :)

Thanks for the headsup. Im on 3.0.1 w/ T-Mobile and everything is working great so i dont know if i even want to upgrade.

Ill wait for the jailbreak to come out and to see if others are having problems like you did and if it can be fixed or whatever. I might be better off staying with what i have.

2g phone unlocked accidently upgarded to 3.1 now working with Itunes 9

I accidently upgraded an unlocked 1st generation phone to 3.1 and itunes 9
I managed to downgrade using Original firmware OS 3.0 (iPhone 2G)
then unlocking again by using itunes 8.2 and redsn0w 0.8 for Windows
all obtained from here
http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-iphone-3.0.1-firmware-with-redsn0w/
Itunes 9 works fine with it, but I did lose all my data.

Iphone recently giving problems with Etisalat UAE service provider - 3.0

Hi

I actually tried to post my prob on a new thread but seemed theres no one to response.

I'm facing this weird problem which I think has started after upgrading to 3.0 firmware. the problem is that I;m not able to make calls or send SMS at all, receive them with no issues. when spoken to Etisalat my service provider, they say the problem is with the phone which I doubt coz I've been using all the while with no dificulties. its only about a day ago since the time I faced this thing. I upgraded to the new firmware like 2 weeks ago and it was fine until just a day ago.

Later i figured out something. I can temporarily fix this issue by searching for 'carriers' under 'Network selection' and changing from 'Automatic' to 'Etisalat' or vice versa.

But the problem here is that I have to do this again and again everytime I have to make a call. Can some one help me out here pls

Rgds

Hoping to get some resolution.

Regards
