Okay, so here's my question. If I install the current GM candidate, will it work with Apple software update? e.g. being able to update to 10.10.X

Also, if they release a second GM candidate, will it install over the top of GM 1 or will I need to wipe and start again?

Thanks!

Last year there was a theory going around that the first gm (of 2) of mavericks, build 13A598 will not be able to update to 10.9.1. So I tested it out when the 10.9.1 public update came out. The theory was wrong. I was able to update it to 10.9.1.

Will that happen with yosemite if there is more gms? Probably.

Can you update to other gms, instead of having to do clean install?

Yes.

Apple used to say you "can't". But that was never true. It is more like advice that a clean install would be better so that bugs from developer previews don't get "left over".
