I have not been able to update to PB3 and now unable to update to PB4 because the App Store cannot find the updates. I have even tried using the terminal command softwareupdate -l to no avail. Is anyone else having this issue? I downloaded the installers from the developer forums for PB4 and tried making the appropriate folder within /Library/Updates/ also to no avail.

I've tried deleting various .plists associated with OS updates as well. Really not sure what to do at this point.

You should not be making the folder yourself. It says so in the developer forums. You should allow the mac app store to create it first.

Anyway there are 2 ways to update to PB4 other than just getting it through the updates tab in the mac app store.

1. Put the files in the appropriate folder as specified in apple's developer forums (already created by the mac app store - don't create it yourself). Restart. Go to updates tab in mac app store and click update.

This method only works if it is already showing up in the mac app store.

2. Run the packages individually from an El Capitan partition, carefully selecting the Sierra partition to install onto.

This method does not require it to be showing up in the mac app store.
