In the past day or two, a few dozen apps that I've previously updated are showing up in the "updates" section of iTunes' apps page. They have the same version number and date as the ones I previously downloaded. For example, MS Word is version 1.13.1 date Sep 18 file size 330.2mb. I updated to that version on Sep 18 or 19, and now it's showing up as an updated app to be downloaded again.
This is an inconvenience: it's about 30 apps and the file sizes of all of them add up to something in the gigabytes.
I could understand if app developers were double-checking their apps for XcodeGhost or other malware and then re-posting clean versions in the app store. But if an app checks out clean and they don't make any changes to the code, version number, or version date, why do we have to re-download them?
