Updating Contacts for iPhone ... got a question

Hi All -

I am trying to update my Address Book and since I have almost 1,500 contacts I have been trying to assign to groups people who are not currently assigned to groups. But it's taking a long time. Is there a way for contacts that have no group assignment to them to be displayed. I know this is something of a double negative but I bet somebody out there has the solution.
