I bought Fusion 11 back in 2018. Now I need to update, because Fusion 11 doesn't run in Monterey. The thing is that Fusion 12 doesn't exist: It's either Fusion 12 Pro, or Fusion 12 Player. I tried to find the feature list of Fusion 11, so that I could find if it matches best 12 Pro or 12 Player, but was unable to find a conclusive answer.

There's a Player vs Pro comparison, but I'm not sure how to compare it to Fusion 11. One of the things I don't understand 100% are the points about making clones. I do clone VMs from time to time (not from the Fusion UI, but just copying them the brute force way). Not sure if this can be done with Player or not...

Fusion 12 player is free for personal use, so try that and if it meets your needs, that's great. Otherwise, I'd wait on buying Fusion 12 Pro. There's a free tech preview of the next version of Fusion available which has all the Pro features and which adds support for Apple Silicon computers, although the tech preview still runs on Intel Macs.

Give UTM a try
https://mac.getutm.app/
https://github.com/utmapp/UTM
https://apps.apple.com/app/utm-virtual-machines/id1538878817
UTM is and always will be completely free and open source. The Mac App Store version is identical to the free version and there are no features left out of the free version. The only advantage of the Mac App Store version is that you can get automatic updates. Purchasing the App Store version directly funds the development of UTM and shows your support

Thanks a lot, that's a good advice! I checked that Fusion 12 Player can run all my virtual machines fine. I'll keep a look at that new release.
