Updating iPhone 4 4.3.5 to iOS5, not working?

1. First time I tried, it showed "Error 2005"
2. Second time its frozen @ "Preparing to restore iPhone" then showed "The iPhone could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (1601)
3. Third time I tried erasing the 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com from hosts, saving, closing notepad, closing itunes, then re entering IP, saving & opening iTunes

Currently in the process of "Restoring iPhone Software" around 15% through..

It usually bugs out @ around 80-90%, lets see if it goes through.

put your device in DFU mode and then try install it? have you updated itunes? itunes has to be updated as well for ios 5 to be installed

iphone 4 jailbreak then upgraded to ios5

i bought iphone 4 from FL USA under AT&T then it was jailbreak here in the Philippines so that i can use other network... however, i upgraded the os to ios5 and it works.. however, my iphone turned into itouch or ipod because it does not recognized my sim or my network carrier here in the Philippines... can you help me? thanks a lot and more power.

i talked a to a cellphone technician that it needs to downgrade my ios 5 to the older version of my iphone 4... can i use the ios5 without downgrading the version of my iphone for ios? thanks again

I am having kind of the same problem. I bought iphone 4 in France. It have been using a jailbreak sim since I arrived in the US. It worked fine until I updated to the new version. Now I cannot do anything with it, not even use it as an itouch. It stops in the process of installing the new version... Please help!!
