Yeah, so i downloaded the update for Limewire, and MSN. They weren't patches or anything. If i install them will it erase the older version, or will i have two versions? If i delete the old MSN, will i lose all my contacts?

Arg! i want patches!

If you put it in the same spot as your old one, it'll replace it and it'll keep all of your old settings, which are usually kept in the app's preference file(s). :)

No. All of your prefs are stored in a prefs file. Just update. Everything will be fine... ;)

ok.... i had some trouble

I now have two copies of MSN. I put one in the trash. The newer one was installed to apple speakable items. What the hell? Shouldn't it be installed to apps?

Weird.

Just drag it to your Applications folder (and maybe the imbedded Microsoft folder if you want). If the dock icon doesn't work (assuming you use one), just drag it off the dock, then drag the actual app back onto the dock.
