updating to iOS 5 do u need a PC or Mac to do this

I updated mine by using a PC windows 7. A friend of mine wants to update her iPad 2 to iOS5 but has no PC in Japan. Does she need a PC to do it then? Thanks

Yes, but all future updates can be done on the device itself.

If she's got an Apple Store nearby, I'm sure they'd be willing to help her upgrade. Once you are on iOS 5, you can do over-the-air updates and never need a computer again.

Whoops thought she was already on iOS 5 and wanted to update to 5.0.1
