When iTunes is updating my AppleTV I can't use it at all. All I get is an Apple logo on the TV.....for ever....until it finishes updating. Is this normal?

Shut off everything, then turn it all back on. Including your wireless router/airport.

when itunes is updating? Like installing a new version or downloading something? Are you streaming from itunes, or does it still not work when you have things saved on the HD?

By updating, I mean syncing and uploading video wirelessly from my mac. I have everything saved to the AppleTV HD and never really stream anything. By the way, this only happens if I try to turn the AppleTV on whilst it's syncing. If I'm playing a movie already and then start syncing, the thing works as normal. Weird. Also, is it normal for a 1GB movie to take almost an hour to upload? Everything else involving my network is working absolutely fine.
