All, I have a jailbroken, unlocked first generation iphone running 1.1.4, I want to upgrade to firmware 2.0.1 , I know I will lose my apps but that is not a problem. Excuse me if these questions are too basic, I just want to be clear before I start. I will use pwnage tool (I have a Macbook with latest version of itunes)

1. Does the latest version of pwnage unlock firmware 2.0.1 as well as jailbreak?
2. Does the version of Cydia that comes with pwnage work well, I read there were some problems with pwnage 2.0.0.
3. Should I install Installer as well as Cydia?
4. This may sound stupid, but as I currently can use any SIM card with the iphone on 1.1.4 when I perform the jailbreak/unlock do I attach the iphone with SIM card removed or leave it in there?

I thank you all in advance for your time, also if there are any compelling reasons NOT to upgrade to 2.0.1 please tell me. Cheers

1. Yes, you have to configure it though. Find the tutorial on this forum.
2. Cydia works fine.
3. Yes
4. Not sure

There's no reason to not upgrade. It's so much easier/faster than jailbreaking 1.1.4

Thanks for the response, just need to clear things up before I go ahead with this. My phone is a 1.1.4 already jailbroken and unlocked, can I just jump ahead and install firmware 2.0.1 with pwnage 2.0.2, do I have to go to firmware version 2.0 first? Will pwnage jailbreak AND unlock 2.0.1 ?
Should I do a restore first in itunes so that I have all contacts and photos saved. Thanks again.
