I heard a friend of mine talking about how the MBP is already set to experience a hardware upgrade in August which will increase the standard 2GB of Ram to 4GB. Does anyone know of any truth to this?

sounds like an unreliable source to me. it's unlikely that apple will twice double the standard amount of ram they offer for stock models within half a year, not to mention no software exists that specifies a minimum of 2 gb ram, so upgrading to a standard 4 gb would just be a waste of money for apple.

I doubt it pretty much because Apple release update (most of the time) near june and near november. So first of all the date ain't really good. And second, 4GB is way too much (if you don't need it). The standard 2Gb is enough for most users. Plus it's the first time I ear someone say that.
