Do you guys think it will be possible to upgrade the D500 to D700 in the future?

So far it looks like just a plug-in board.

Apple probably will not sell self-install kits, as GPU is not listed in user-serviceable components, but this definitely could be an in-store upgrade.

It might be possible to buy the D700 boards somehow, but it will most likely cost noticeably more than just doing the D700 upgrade with the initial purchase.

Apple Stores tend to not do upgrades like that. An Apple Authorized Service Provider might do it, but the cost of the D700s as I said will likely be a lot more than buying it with the system.

Is upgrading the graphics cards more complex than upgrading the CPU?

Based on what is quoted above, it sounds like it.

I doubt it's complex. It's just the cost of the cards since the only ones available are the ones Apple makes.

Since the CPU is Intel's, is it cheaper to upgrade, or the CPUs are also specially made for Apple?
