Upgrade from late 2012 (21.5) to 2017 - second hand (21.5)

Need advice..

Sistuation:
Both are fusion drive.
Same size (ok with me) but now with retina.
More power I guess?
Both 8 GB Ram.

What to use for:
Photo editing and everyday use as I do now.

Problem:
Sierra is the version I am using now and I did try High Sierra (lag fest) and Mojave (not great for HD screen) and by mistake I was trying out photos in Mojave so I can't use photos in Sierra, because of the Mojave move..

Now, this is of course for a great price, but should I close my eyes and go for the new 27" and I know there might be an new iMac around the corner, but I have really waited long now.. So the second hand iMac could be great for some time.. or?

I suggest either get the 27" now (which is what I did, 27" screen is fantastic), or wait for the rumored 24" next year.

I think not much point in getting another 21.5" with fusion drive unless it costs you almost nothing extra
