I bought 6th gen ipad 3 weeks ago and now i want to sell it and buy 7th gen because of that extra gb of ram, is it worth it? Please help with advice. Is that extra ram will be noticeable?
Well, apps would probably refresh far less, especially when you have lots of windows open. My apps constantly need refreshing and I have an iPad 6th gen running iPadOS. Sure, I would be more happy with the new iPad, but I bought my iPad in 2018. Also that Apple smart keyboard would be nice to have. But is it worth taking a loss on your iPad? That's for you to decide. But I guess if you are already thinking about it, it might be a good thing to do it now and be done with it, or else it will always be on your mind. Also the iPad 6th gen isn't going to retain its value for long, so if you need the highest price, do it now. Some stores have a longer return window policy, or might be willing to let you trade up for a fee.
It was right before 7gen announcement)) I don't think smart keyboard support is important thing since it costs half of the price of iPad, the only real good thing is extra ram.Why did you buy the 6th gen three weeks ago?!? 😮 I hope you got a great deal on it at least.
Personally I think the 10.2” 7th gen is a big jump over the 6th gen, because of the 50% additional RAM and because of the 10.5” Smart Keyboard support.
It depends on what you need and want though.
Lots of good deals on the Smart Keyboard out there. It’s the same one as for the Air 10.5” and Pro 10.5”. You don’t have to pay anywhere near retail for that.It was right before 7gen announcement)) I don't think smart keyboard support is important thing since it costs half of the price of iPad, the only real good thing is extra ram.
buy it and also get an smart cover for 24$ if ypu buy 2019 model for 330$ you also will need smart cover which is 50$Same question- I am interested in a 6th gen iPad and can purchase one brand new from a respected US electronics store for 229.00. Is that enough of a savings over the 2019 iPad?

Well, $229 for the 32GB 6th gen is good, but I want you to consider how much storage space you need. The system + temp files will take up 12 GB (at least on my iPad), so you only have less than 20 GB left. Is that enough for you? If you can get a 128 GB 6th gen for a low price, that would be better, I think.Same question- I am interested in a 6th gen iPad and can purchase one brand new from a respected US electronics store for 229.00. Desktop Safari is default on iPadOS 13.
However, IMO, desktop Safari often feels a bit too small on the 9.7” iPads, since the default fonts are often quite small.
It is quite a bit nicer on the 10.5”+ iPads. Source? Myself. We have two iPad Air 2s and one 10.5” Pro.
At www.CBC.ca/news I tested all at the same time:
iPad Air 2 iOS 12.4.1
iPad Air 2 iPadOS 13.1
iPad Pro 10.5” iPadOS 13.1
I can’t seem to find the review you linked to? How is the performance of iOS 13 on the air 2? I was issued one for work about five years ago and I recalled that it seemed to lag a lot.
No review there. I did the test myself as mentioned, using that website.
5 years ago the iPad Air 2 was more than fine. However nowadays its 2 GB RAM can sometimes be a bit annoying due to applications and Safari tabs refreshing more than I’d like.
I bought a rMB with 16 GB RAM. For me that is more useful overall than a MBP with 8 GB RAM. I also much prefer the form factor of the rMB.Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. That is my concern with the iPad 6th generation - 2 gigs of ram. I can get the educational pricing for the iPad 7th generation for 299, but I am not sure if the larger screen, smart connector, and 3 gigs is worth it. I am concerned that I won't use the iPad to even a fraction of their capabilities, hence my purchase of a rMB over a MBP.

For an iPad, Safari tab and app refreshes on 2 GB has been an issue for years now. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying. It still happens even on my 4 GB iPad Pro, but it's much, much less frequent. I am now waiting to buy a 6 GB 4th generation iPad Pro.
BTW, getting a full-sized Smart Keyboard (with 18 mm key spacing) has totally transformed the way I use my iPad. The full-sized Smart Keyboards are only available for the 10.2"+ iPads. The 9.7" Pro has a non-full-sized Smart Keyboard, and the 6th gen iPad doesn't have Smart Keyboard support at all.
Yes, definitely.I am not looking for a laptop replacement, but would you say that the iPad paired with the Smart Keyboard made you use your rMB less?
Ouch! Yeah, buy the new 7th generation iPad. The extra GB of RAM will come in handy.I bought 6th gen ipad 3 weeks ago
If I got a really good price on the 6th, I'd probably keep it. Yeah the extra 1gb RAM would be nice, but remember the processors are identical. There are many 5th and 6th gen owners here running iPadOS and are pretty happy. Add to that, if you're an MS Office user it will not be free with the 7th gen.
Office is not free with iPads over 10”.I am a bit confused - what do you mean it will not be free with the 7th Gen?
