I could be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that iOS 10 would work on the iPad Air 2 but not the Gen 1 iPad Air. Did I get that wrong? Because now my Gen 1 iPad Air is asking for permission to install iOS 10. Should I go ahead and install? Thoughts?

I'm wondering if there's a point when the hardware is old enough that an OS will install, but won't work all that great.

I installed it on my Air 1 (which my wife's).
I never tested anything but it seemed a little sluggish.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I guess I will go ahead with the upgrade. (I might wait a few more days, though. Sometimes I like to wait for them to fix any bugs that turn up at the start.)

(Some of the changes I've read about seem like downgrades rather than improvements, though. Sigh!)
