I currently have an iPhone 4. I love it! I was thinking about upgrading it but I heard that the iPhone 4S battery life is not good. When I went to the Apple Store, I was using the 4S. I love Siri! It is a lot of fun to use and could probably help me out a lot. Is it worth upgrading my iPhone 4 to an iPhone 4S or no? Please give me some feed back. Thanks! :apple: for life!

As said many times in these forums: If I wait for the next great thing, I will always be waiting because next year the talk will be "Oh wait for the iPhone 6, it will be amazing!"

I went from a 4 to a 4S, and aside from Siri (which IS actually very helpful) you get to speak all your email, text, etc., the speed bump is awesome, and I truly do get better phone reception. For me, it was well worth the upgrade.

Also, I sold my old 4 and recovered the upgrade cost :D

As for the battery, I get more than a day of use, not quite as long as my 4 but close. (Usually go to the evening of day 2 and charge) Also, every year some people have issues. Not questioning if they have issues or not, but realize that mostly the ones who have issues will post. Those of us who do not have issues just enjoy our device. Mass manufacturing ANYTHING will have some issues pop up.... In my experience, Apple has always made it right for me.

Below is a screen shot of my current battery usage:

You should also know that specs for the newer iPhone battery show Standby Time listed as 200 hours, as opposed to the iPhone 4 battery which has Standby Time listed as 300 hours (in case that sort of thing is important to you.)

I honestly upgraded to the 4S from the 4 and do not regret it...if you keep waiting there will ALWAYS be something new.

I just ordered a white 4s 16gb, I'll be upgrading from a 3Gs. I'm pretty excited!

I wonder how long it'll take to get here... I don't think I can wait... haha

If you have a 3GS or older, upgrade. If you have a 4, wait. The 4S is certainly a step up above the 4, but the differences are so minor that you'll probably not notice the difference unless you're playing graphically intense games or taking pictures/videos.

I would wait for the iPhone 5, personally.

Siri is fun but not a necessity. iPhone 5 should be worth the wait.

I would agree. I have both 4 and 4s (1 for personal and work just gave me the 4s) and I don't think it's that big of a jump.
Now for battery life on the 4s, I don't think it's that bad. I get over 200 emails a day, talking on the phone a lot and it's almost 9 and I still have 10% left. I have the brightness about 40%, sound is on also.

Personally, if you had a 3G or 3GS, I would recommend you upgrade. But since you have the 4, I would stick with it. Unless you could really use Siri (which you did mention in your post). Honestly, Siri would be a novelty that would probably wear off for me within a week. My iPhone 4 still works perfectly, so unless you absolutely need/want to, I would say wait for the 5 at this point. But then again, it is your money.

I've been very happy with my upgrade from a 4 to 4S. I debated waiting but I was too enamored with Siri and now that I've had the 4S I can't live without the camera - I don't even think about bringing my point and shoot any more (although I need to find some good optical zoom attachments).

But suffice to say I haven't regretted the upgrade at all and have been loving my 4S. I think the question is do you like the feel of the 4 and is Siri and the camera reason enough for you to upgrade.

Good luck in whatever choice you make.

I upgraded from the 4 to 4s mainly because we are giving our son the 4 as a Christmas present and it made more financial sense to use an upgrade and give him a 16gb iphone tuned ipod rather than spend $200 to get him an 8b iPod.

Well worth the upgrade.

I don't know whether a 4 --> 4S upgrade makes sense, but you raise a good point that many people overlook: the 4S supports standard speech to text, and not just through Siri. I've dictated quite a few text messages and notes already, and while the accuracy isn't always perfect, it's a very nice feature. With Siri added to the mix, it just means that I can have text messages read to me and then text back, all while driving and without ever touching the phone. (Granted, once you reach that point the question becomes "why don't you just call the person"... strange world we live in.)

Whether the feature is useful to you or not depends on you and your uses, of course.

The problem about iPhone 4S battery is the ios 5, ios 5 waste the battery very much. I think the next few version can fix it.
