Is it possible to properly fit the MP 3,1 logic board into a 1,1 chassis and to use the RAM and CPUs of the MP 1,1?

Basically I want to only upgrade the logic board in my MP 1,1 to MP 3,1, but keep all the other parts the same old ones to make it a true 64bit.

Why? Because it would cost less than $200 to go up a little and use an otherwise perfect machine for a little longer.

(I don't mind to alter the case a little bit if it has to.)

Has anyone ever done it?

As far as I know, you'll have problems with fitting MP 3.1 memory cage (standoffs problem), and power supplies are different, to be excact one of the P1-4 connectors are all not the same and they differ in length.
