I upgraded my MBP 2.0 with a Hitachi 160 GB hard drive and it went great. I was a little scared because I ripped the power socket from the logic board on my girlfriends ibook when I was trying to upgrade her laptop (bought her a new macbook). It went very easy and I managed to do it in about 45 minutes. I went very slowly to make sure I did a quality job and fiddled with unplugging the drive and repositioning the new one for about 15 minutes of the 45 minutes. The only problem I have with it is a clicking noise when it tries to idle. I did a bit of research and found that the hitachi drives have a power saving feature that spins down the drive. When power management notices this it power back on the drive causeing a clicking sound. People with PCs 
are able to use a tool called feature tool made by hitachi to adjust the hard drive power controls to disable the power down feature and instead have it controlled by the laptop itself. I tried to use this software with my macbook pro to no avail. I get to a screen that I have to use the keyboard and am unable to do so. The keyboard is non responsive. Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what to do? Anyway around getting the keyboard to work? Thank you all in advance.
