I upgraded my Parallels to 4.0 from 2.0. I keep getting a message that says I will "have to continue upgrade manually". It says something about running from the Windows XP CD, which for some reason I cannot even find. BUT, anyway, there's no way to run it since Windows won't boot....it keeps going back to a black screen with the message, " We apologie for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.
If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Know Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Reste button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally. "

Anyway, I cannot get Windows to start at all. I also upgraded to Snow Leopard, as I was told that 4.0 wouldn't run on Tiger.

Can anyone help me?

Hmm, wish I had tips here but haven't had that problem since I went from 2.0 to 3.0, and then from 3.0 to 4.0.

Since you've purchased 4.0, best bet here is to talk with Parallels Support; they're very reasonable people. My guess is they might be able to give you a 3.0 version you can upgrade to then to 4.0, or they might have some special tip or trick to resolve your issue.

re-install windows

I had to re-install Windows XP but now I cannot get Transporter to get any of my Windows programs into the new virtual os. I've tried everything that i know to do and still everything that I had is not showing up. It appears I have no way to get any of the programs or info that I had backed up into this new version of Parallels.
