I think this may be on a lot of users minds,

I first want to state, that for 80% of my uses the air (1.0) is perfect, but that other 20% - and that really is the more important stuff to me - it just suffers from core shutdown, fans over-revving, overheating... not pleasant (especially the choppy video playback)....

It seems like MBA 2.0 is what MBA 1.0 should have been... (can someone please tell me why they didnt add another speaker to the air? lol...)

MY QUESTION :

How possible is this going to be at the apple store? I know in the past they do a case-by-case basis and in some circumstances they just do either a swap, or offer a free upgrade to newer generation.. ANY suggestions ?

Thanks, alf

(ps: I know Rev.A users always take a risk.... i am not looking for something excessive, just how can apple justify that everything on the computer works as advertised with the exception of video playback (itunes video) ?...... also, I have a 64 SSD/1.8 MBA)

tallest skil said pretty much all of it.

The only other chance of you getting a free upgrade is if they ran out of first gen MBA's, which is not likely to happen, so you're back to just what tallest skil said.

getting an upgrade is not excessive? Haha I wonder what excessive would be then.

If you don't think Apple can justify that everything works on the air as advertised..It sounds to me like lawsuit time :p

I agree there. Basically you've lived with the machine for an unspecified amount of time and now you want an upgrade.

When I bought a truck they completely redesigned the body <9 months later. I went in for an upgrade and guess want? I was told to go pound sand.

Yes, The Macbook Air should of been a quad core machine with a GTX 280 graphic card with 1TB SSD and not a 3G but 4G in it.

I hope they do not give it to you.

The good side of the grass.
Realistically, if you had history complaining to Apple and had a few Genius appointments or they did work on your machine to try and fix it, you might have a chance. If you never complained to Apple until the new ones came out, you don't deserve jack crap.
