Upgrade Processor? 4 or 8 GB of Ram?

Just ordered a reburb Mac Mini with the following specs:

Originally released June 2010
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
320GB hard drive
HDMI port with support for up to 1920-by-1200 resolution
SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 320M with 256MB memory

1. My boyfriend and I will be transferring our files, pics, music, and videos from our PC.
2. There will be time when we're both logged in.
3. I'll be upgrading to Lion when it comes out.
4. We'll be using it to word process, email, store files, and Apple TV every now and then.

****Here's the question*****
With 1-4 in mind, should I have opted for the processor upgrade? (It's not too late for me to cancel.)
How much memory should I add? 4 or 8 GBs?

Dont add apple's ram upgrade, get it after market, it works just the same for a lot less money. You can find it on newegg or superbiiz or any number of web sites way cheaper.

Lion loves RAM so I would get 8GB as RAM prices are so low now.

if you purchased the 2.4 refurb today you will get a free lion upgrade

( must be from apple online store) you need at least 4gb ram but I would put 8gb in.

don't get a cpu upgrade not a big improvement for the coin that you lay out. 2.4 to 2.66 is not worth a lot of money

My understanding with refurb Macs is you get the software that originally came with the machine irregardless of what software is currently available. Has this changed?

And I agree that the CPU upgrade isn't worth it. Buy more RAM from elsewhere.

In the past, refurbs have been eligible but we won't know the details of Lion's up-to-date promo until July.

From the OS X Lion press release:

The Mac OS X Lion Up-To-Date upgrade is available at no additional charge via the Mac App Store to all customers who purchased a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 6, 2011. Users must request their Up-To-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase of their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 6, 2011 and the date when Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from Lions official release date to make a request.

It does say "new Mac system" but who knows how strict they will be?

Even if you didnt get the free upgrade to Lion with a refurb you would be saving $50.00 and that could go towards the purchse of Lion at a later time.

You don't need anything for what you plan to do. Save your money. You can always easily add RAM later, so there's absolutely no reason to buy it now.

I agree. The slightly faster processor wouldn't make a huge difference. I upgraded my Mac Mini to 4 GB RAM (just for the fun of it) and I haven't noticed that much of a difference either, because it's used for the same "light" tasks you described.
