Hoping someone can help explain this to me!

I’m on the upgrade program paying about £56pm for my iPhone XS. My eligible to upgrade date was 28th Sept but I haven’t upgraded and continued to pay monthly for my current phone.

If I upgrade now, what happens to the £150 I’ve essentially ‘overpaid’ for my current phone? Is it taken off the next one somehow or would I just lose it? In that case, should I just keep my current phone for another 4 months so it becomes mine then restart the program again?

Thanks!

You'll lose it. I would just keep the current phone if it's working fine and wait till you pay it off and wait till September to start the program again then.

The best thing to do if you have 'overpaid' would be to pay off the XS in full, keep it and then sell it to a cash for mobile place eg, envirofone (I'd highly recommend RPC Recycle). A girl I work with actually 'made money' doing this.

Often, you'll find the money they give you for the phone will be more than the amount you have parted with to pay it off.

This is what I'll be doing next year with my XS Max rather than give it back to Apple.
