hello my friends,

So today I decided to apply for the iPhone upgrade program. I followed all the steps and I was confident that I’ll be in with no problem because I hard a good score of 720. But here is what I got:

There is an issue with your application

Unfortunately, you were not approved for this offer.

Citizens one will send you an email explaining why your application was unsuccessful, along with a phone number to call if you’d like to discuss the status of your application.

======

So what’s going on here? I did not get the email they mentioned. It seems there is something wrong but I noticed they did a hard inquiry on my credit through EQUIFAX.

Did anyone face anything like that?

Thank you

In past years, I've seen many posts from people with excellent FICO scores being declined for the Citizens One loan. I don't know if anyone ever figured out why. Do you have any negative history with Citizens Bank?

Got the same thing when I tried to upgrade my 7+ to the XS Max even though I payed every payment on time and have a decent credit score. I had to go through T-mobile's plan this time.

Maybe a fraud alert on your file?

I called them today because I did not get any emails as they said that I should get one and they said I need to wait like 5 business days because they need to check on my info manually :-/

This is weird and I hope apple change them to another bank
