iPhone Upgrade to iOS 6 from 5.1.1

I have an unlocked iPhone 3gs iOS 5.1.1 with the ipad baseband, I was wondering how the process would be to upgrade the phone to iOS 6. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

Not and keep your baseband. In fact, I believe that doing so will make iTunes attempt to re-flash your baseband and damage it altogether. Wait for a NO_BB firmware option.

Get that dumb iPad baseband off your iPhone. It offer NOTHING over the older iPhone baseband but causes all kinds of trouble (loss of GPS, prevents official updating, etc).

I had that baseband because I unlocked that iPhone to use T-Mobile. How do I remove the baseband?
