My girlfriend has a macbook pro that is running Leopard and she wants to upgrade it to Snow Leopard. All of her important files are backed up externally. I have an OS X install disc from a refurbished mac mini that I bought in March. If she wipes her hard drive and installs the mac mini version of OS X on her laptop will there be any issues with drivers or anything else? I want his to work but my gut instinct tells me this is a bad idea.

OSX Upgrade

Although the core system will likely work others trying this have come across driver issues, especially network, and because of this you then can not update and obtain the correct drivers.

Hope this helps

Apple generally locks those disks to certain machines, this is not likely to work.

A real Snow Leopard disk is only $30 anyway.
