What is the chance that the iMacs will be updated along with the MBPs, as in what is the likelihood the iMac would get a better graphics card, processor, etc in the same time frame. I am not asking when this would happen, but I am asking if people think it would happen when this imminent upgrade is done to the MBP line, or would Apple wait until the summer to update to Penryn?

All depends on the supply of the next CPU, if there are enough to update the iMac and MBP at the same time -- it may happen.

Otherwise the MBP will likely get the bestest/faster first. With the iMac to follow.

Though the architecture of the iMac did include some of the changes that should happen with the next MBP.

As far as GPU, it'll likely depend on who delivers the coolest/low power card for the next gen portable -- with the iMac likely getting the other vendor.

So hard to tell.

Should all be updated as supplies become available, unless the GPUs throw a wrench into the works.

I wish there were as many leaks/rumors/what-have-you about the iMac as there are about the MBP right now...

People think there will be a GPU upgrade. I DOUBT IT. The Mac pros should have better GPU's than the iMacs. Or the standard mac pro should be the same as a highend imac. Last gen imac, the 24 inch model had an option to upgrade to the nvdia 7300GT, the same as last gens mac pros, the new mac pros have ati 2600XT's, the imac is SAID to have a 2600PRO, but it has an XT, so i doubt there will be a gpu upgrade. maybe a slight increase in performance in the low end 2400XT. but i could see apple making the low end imac a 2.1ghz, or a 2.16ghz, i hope a 2.2ghz, but then it would be nice to have a 2.6ghz middle model, and maybe bump the C2E.

Once I removed the standard ati drivers that installed with bootcamp. I went to ati for new drivers and it said I have a 2600 Pro.
